Apple’s next major product event is officially scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, giving shoppers their first look at the company’s next round of fall devices.

The event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, or 1 p.m. Eastern Time, and Apple says viewers can watch it online through Apple.com, the Apple TV app or YouTube Live.

Apple is calling the event “Surprise and shine.”

While Apple has not announced the products in advance, reports point to new high-end iPhones, updated Apple Watches and possibly new AirPods.

Quick Take

  • Apple Event date: Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026
  • Start time: 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET
  • Where to watch: Apple.com, Apple TV app and YouTube Live
  • Cost to watch: Free
  • Expected focus: New iPhones and other fall hardware
  • Confirmed products: Apple has not officially revealed the lineup

What Time Is the Apple Event?

Apple’s Sept. 9 event starts at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

For U.S. viewers, that means:

  • Pacific Time: 10 a.m.
  • Mountain Time: 11 a.m.
  • Central Time: 12 p.m.
  • Eastern Time: 1 p.m.

Apple is promoting the date and time directly on both its main website and Apple Events page.

If you want to watch from the beginning, opening the stream a few minutes early is a good idea.

Apple has not announced how long the presentation will run.

How to Watch the Apple Event Live

You do not need a special subscription to watch Apple’s product event.

Apple says the presentation will be available through three main options:

  1. Apple.com
  2. The Apple TV app
  3. YouTube Live

Apple’s developer site specifically confirms all three viewing methods for the Sept. 9 presentation.

That means you can watch on many common devices, including computers, smartphones, tablets and TVs that support one of those services.

You also do not need to own an Apple device to use the Apple website or YouTube stream.

What Will Apple Announce?

This is where confirmed information ends and expectations begin.

Apple has confirmed the event itself, but it has not officially named the products that will be unveiled.

Current reporting strongly suggests that the presentation will focus on Apple’s next premium iPhone lineup.

Among the devices widely expected are:

  • iPhone 18 Pro
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max
  • Apple’s first foldable iPhone
  • Apple Watch Series 12
  • Apple Watch Ultra 4
  • New AirPods

MacRumors reports that the foldable model could be positioned as a new high-end iPhone, while Apple’s regular iPhone lineup may follow a different release schedule this year.

Because Apple has not confirmed those products yet, specifications, prices, colors and even final product names should still be treated as unconfirmed until the event.

Is the Regular iPhone 18 Expected?

Possibly not in September.

One of the biggest potential changes this year is Apple’s reported move away from releasing every major iPhone model at the same fall event.

Current reports indicate that Apple may introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September, while holding the standard iPhone 18 until spring 2027.

That would be a noticeable change for shoppers accustomed to seeing the standard and Pro models introduced together.

It is important to remember that Apple has not publicly confirmed this split release strategy.

The Sept. 9 event should finally clarify which phones are actually coming this fall.

Is Apple Really Expected to Announce a Foldable iPhone?

A foldable iPhone is one of the most closely watched possibilities for this event.

Multiple reports now expect Apple to introduce its first folding smartphone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The Verge reports that the device is expected to use a book-style folding design, although Apple has not confirmed the product or its final name.

Some reports have referred to the device as a possible iPhone Ultra, but that name remains unofficial.

Until Apple presents the phone itself, details about its design, cameras, screen size, price and release date should be considered rumors rather than established facts.

That distinction matters because leaked Apple product details can change before a launch.

When Will the New iPhones Go on Sale?

Apple has not announced preorder or release dates for any unannounced iPhone models.

Normally, those details are revealed during the September event.

Current reporting points to a possible release later in September for the iPhone 18 Pro models, but there is an unusual calendar issue this year: the first Friday after the event is Sept. 11.

MacRumors notes that Apple previously shifted an iPhone preorder date when the normal schedule fell on Sept. 11, so the company may again use a different timetable in 2026.

For that reason, shoppers should not assume a preorder date until Apple confirms one.

Anyone planning to upgrade should pay attention during the closing portion of the event, when Apple typically provides pricing, preorder and availability information for newly announced products.

What Should You Wait to Learn Before Buying a New iPhone?

If you are considering buying an iPhone right now, Sept. 9 is close enough that waiting may be worthwhile.

The event should answer several major questions:

  • Which new iPhones are actually launching?
  • Will Apple introduce a foldable model?
  • What will the new phones cost?
  • When will preorders begin?
  • When will the phones reach stores?
  • Will the standard iPhone 18 arrive later?
  • Which older iPhones will remain available?

Those details can affect more than just shoppers interested in the newest model.

When Apple updates its lineup, older devices may receive new pricing or disappear from Apple’s official store altogether.

For now, the one detail that is completely confirmed is the event schedule:

Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event takes place Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. PT, or 1 p.m. ET.
