If you saw Domino’s new free-pizza promotion and planned to try it, the giveaway appears to have ended much earlier than its original Sept. 30 deadline.
As of Sept. 2, 2026, Domino’s official “Is the Domino Worthy?” promotion page says every free Domino has been claimed and that the company has finished giving away $1 million worth of the new pizzas.
The promotion launched Aug. 31 with at least 105,375 free-pizza codes available on a first-come, first-served basis. Domino’s rules allowed the offer to end either Sept. 30 or whenever all available codes were claimed, whichever happened first.
That second condition has now been reached.
Quick Take
- Promotion started: Aug. 31, 2026
- Original end date: Sept. 30, 2026
- Current status: All free-pizza codes claimed
- Number of codes offered: At least 105,375
- Value of giveaway: Up to $1 million
- Existing code expiration: Oct. 14, 2026
- New Domino pizza: Still available to purchase nationwide
Is Domino’s Still Giving Away Free Domino Pizzas?
No, not through this promotion.
Domino’s current promotion page displays a message stating that every Domino has been claimed and directs customers who still want to try the new pizza to order one instead.
That may be confusing if you saw stories saying the promotion ran through Sept. 30.
Those stories were accurate when the offer launched. The official terms, however, clearly stated that the promotion would end at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on Sept. 30 or when all available offers were depleted, whichever came first.
The giveaway therefore did not guarantee that codes would remain available for the entire month.
How Did the Free Pizza Promotion Work?
Domino’s created the giveaway to introduce its new single-serving Detroit-style pizza called the Domino.
The unusual part was that customers were encouraged to buy a signature item from another fast-food chain first.
Eligible purchases included:
- McDonald’s Big Mac
- Burger King Whopper
- Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme
- Chick-fil-A Original Chicken Sandwich
- Chipotle burrito
Customers could take a picture or screenshot of an eligible purchase receipt and upload it through Domino’s promotional website.
Valid participants received a coupon code by email for one free Domino with up to three toppings, as long as codes remained available.
Domino’s said codes were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Did You Actually Have to Buy Food From a Competitor?
No.
Despite the attention-grabbing receipt promotion, Domino’s official rules included a no-purchase-necessary method of entry.
Customers could use an alternative entry process instead of buying one of the competing fast-food items.
That distinction was included in both Domino’s promotional announcement and its FAQ. Each eligible participant was limited to one offer claim regardless of which entry method was used.
The alternative entry option does not provide a way around the current sellout, however. Domino’s now says all available free Domino offers have been claimed.
What If You Already Received a Free Domino Code?
If you successfully claimed a code before the giveaway ran out, you may still have time to use it.
Domino’s says promotional codes from the giveaway must be redeemed by Oct. 14, 2026.
The code covers one Domino with up to three toppings.
Domino’s instructed recipients to redeem the offer through Domino.com or the Domino’s app by building an eligible Domino, proceeding to the cart and entering the promotional code during checkout.
So the giveaway being closed does not mean already-issued codes immediately became invalid.
If you received one, check the email containing your code and redemption instructions.
What Is the New Domino Pizza?
The Domino is a new individual-sized Detroit-style pizza that launched nationwide on Aug. 31.
It uses Domino’s pan dough with Parmesan baked into the crust, two layers of cheese, a choice of sauce and up to three toppings. The pizza is finished with garlic seasoning.
Unlike a standard round pizza designed primarily for sharing, the Domino was developed as a meal for one person.
The company is positioning it as an alternative for occasions when customers want their own toppings rather than negotiating a larger shared pizza.
The official product is cut into two rectangular pieces in a shape tied to Domino’s branding.
Can You Still Buy the Domino?
Yes.
Only the free giveaway has run out. The new pizza itself remains available to order at participating Domino’s locations nationwide.
Domino’s included the Domino in its Mix & Match Deal at launch. Under that offer, customers can choose two or more qualifying menu items, including a two-topping Domino, for $6.99 each.
Promotional pricing and participation can vary, so check the current price shown by your local store before ordering.
The Domino can be ordered through Domino’s website or mobile app.
Why Did the Giveaway End So Early?
Domino’s has not provided a detailed public explanation for how quickly the supply was exhausted.
What we do know is that the company made at least 105,375 free-pizza codes available and distributed valid offers on a first-come, first-served basis.
By Sept. 2, the official promotional page was already reporting that all of them had been claimed.
That is an important reminder with restaurant giveaways that advertise a date range alongside the phrase “while supplies last.”
The calendar date may not be the real deadline.
For this particular promotion, Sept. 30 was only the latest possible ending date. The free-pizza supply disappeared first.
If you already have a code, you can still redeem it through Oct. 14. If you did not claim one in time, the new Domino is still available to purchase, but the $1 million giveaway is over.
