Pumpkin spice season is showing no signs of slowing down.
Starbucks says its 2026 fall menu launch on Aug. 25 became the strongest fall launch day in company history across the United States and Canada. The familiar Pumpkin Spice Latte is back, but this year’s menu goes well beyond the drink that started the seasonal tradition.
Customers now have new pumpkin options for shaken espresso, matcha and chai, along with returning pecan drinks, banana bread-inspired beverages and the unusual Iced Chaider. Starbucks has also confirmed that another round of fall items will arrive in late September.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Is Back, but the Fall Menu Is Much Bigger
The Pumpkin Spice Latte remains the most recognizable part of Starbucks’ fall season, more than two decades after its original debut.
It returned Aug. 25 alongside several established seasonal favorites, including Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai and the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino.
What makes the 2026 menu more interesting is how many alternatives Starbucks is now offering to customers who want fall flavors without ordering the traditional PSL.
Three new pumpkin-focused drinks joined the lineup:
- Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso
- Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha
- Pumpkin Spice Chai
The expanded selection means pumpkin is no longer limited mainly to lattes and blended coffee drinks. It now stretches across espresso, matcha, chai and cold brew.
The Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso Is a Major New Addition
Among the new drinks, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso is one Starbucks specifically highlighted following the record-setting launch.
The drink combines Blonde Espresso with brown sugar syrup and cinnamon, shaken over ice. Oatmilk is added before the drink is topped with pumpkin cream cold foam.
That creates a different experience from a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Instead of making pumpkin flavor part of the entire espresso-and-milk base, the shaken espresso keeps its familiar brown sugar and cinnamon profile while the pumpkin flavor comes primarily from the creamy foam on top.
For customers who already prefer iced shaken espresso drinks, it provides a seasonal option without requiring a switch to a traditional latte.
Matcha and Chai Drinkers Have More Fall Choices
Coffee is no longer required to participate in Starbucks’ pumpkin season.
The new Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha pairs iced matcha with pumpkin cream cold foam, combining the earthy flavor of matcha with a sweeter seasonal topping.
The new Pumpkin Spice Chai takes another route, combining spiced black tea and steamed milk with pumpkin sauce and pumpkin spice topping.
The returning Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai is also available.
Together, those drinks make the fall menu more relevant to customers who normally order chai or matcha instead of espresso.
Pecan and Banana Bread Give Pumpkin Some Competition
Pumpkin still gets most of the attention, but Starbucks has built several other flavor groups into the 2026 menu.
Pecan returns in three drinks:
- Pecan Cortado
- Iced Pecan Crunch Latte
- Pecan Crunch Latte
Starbucks describes the lineup as combining pecan flavor with brown-butter-like notes, baking spices and espresso.
The company is also expanding its banana-inspired drinks with the new Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai.
The Iced Banana Bread Latte combines Blonde Espresso with banana syrup, milk and ice before being topped with brown sugar cream cold foam and cinnamon dolce topping.
The chai version uses spiced chai as its base instead of making espresso the focus.
One detail makes these drinks especially notable. Starbucks says the Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai are expected to remain available beyond the fall season rather than disappearing with most limited-time autumn items.
The Iced Chaider Is Not Traditional Apple Cider
One of the strangest names on the new menu belongs to the Iced Chaider.
Despite the cider-inspired name, Starbucks does not describe it as chai mixed with traditional apple cider.
Instead, the drink combines Starbucks chai with strawberry açaí flavors to create a crisp beverage intended to produce a cider-like flavor profile.
That makes it one of the more unusual choices on the fall menu, particularly for someone who wants seasonal spice without pumpkin, pecan or espresso.
The Hedgehog Cake Pop Set Its Own Record
The record-setting launch was not only about drinks.
Starbucks introduced a Hedgehog Cake Pop made from vanilla cake and buttercream, covered in chocolate-flavored icing and chocolate sprinkles.
According to Starbucks, it delivered the strongest single-day sales of any fall cake pop the company has offered.
The food menu also includes the new Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket, which combines chicken, bacon and garlic herb cheese spread inside toasted whole-wheat lavash. Starbucks lists the item as containing 20 grams of protein.
The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin has returned as another familiar seasonal option.
More Starbucks Fall Items Are Coming Sept. 29
The Aug. 25 launch is not the end of Starbucks’ 2026 fall rollout.
On Aug. 31, the company announced that a new drink called the Aerocano will arrive Sept. 29.
The Aerocano uses Blonde Espresso that is air-whipped to create a light foam and cascading appearance. Starbucks describes it as a modern take on an Iced Americano.
Three Mini Pies are also scheduled to arrive the same day:
- Apple Crumble Mini Pie
- Pecan Mini Pie
- Pumpkin Mini Pie
That gives Starbucks another opportunity to refresh its fall lineup more than a month after the first seasonal drinks arrived.
Which Fall Drink Makes the Most Sense for You?
With so many choices, the easiest approach may be to start with the type of drink you already order.
For the classic Starbucks fall experience, the Pumpkin Spice Latte remains the obvious choice.
Cold brew drinkers can stick closer to their usual order with Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, while shaken espresso fans now have the Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso.
Matcha drinkers have the new Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha, and chai fans can choose from Pumpkin Spice Chai, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai or Iced Chaider.
Anyone who is already tired of pumpkin can instead look toward the pecan or banana bread-inspired options.
Starbucks has not given one universal end date for every fall item, and availability can vary by location. Most seasonal items are limited-time offerings, while the company has specifically said the new banana bread-inspired latte and chai will continue beyond the fall season.
The bigger takeaway from the record launch may be that Starbucks’ fall strategy is no longer built around one famous latte. The company has turned the season into a much broader menu spanning coffee, cold brew, matcha, chai, food and multiple flavor families.
And with another menu update already scheduled for Sept. 29, the 2026 fall rollout is still expanding.
