If you want to vote on America’s Got Talent during the 2026 live shows, the process is fairly simple, but the voting window is much shorter than some viewers may expect.
For the Sept. 1 Quarterfinals 3 episode, America’s Got Talent airs at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Voting opens when the live show begins and closes at 7 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 2, according to NBC’s official voting guidance.
That means viewers should not wait until later Wednesday to vote. Once the deadline passes, votes for that round are closed.
Quick Take
- Next live voting show: Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026
- Show time: 8 p.m. ET on NBC
- Voting opens: At the beginning of the live show
- Voting closes: 7 a.m. ET the following morning
- Main voting options: AGT Official App and NBC.com
- NBC.com and app voting requires an NBCUniversal Profile
How to Vote on America’s Got Talent
NBC provides an online voting system that can be used from a phone, tablet or computer.
The easiest options are the America’s Got Talent Official App or NBC’s official AGT voting website.
To vote online:
- Sign in or create an NBCUniversal Profile.
- Open the AGT voting page while the voting window is active.
- Select the act or acts you want to support.
- Choose how many votes you want to give them.
- Select “Submit Votes” before the voting deadline.
NBC says voters using the AGT app or NBC.com can assign up to 10 votes to an act through the voting interface. You can also change your selections while the voting window remains open.
That flexibility is useful if you vote early in the show and later decide another performance deserves some of your support.
What Time Does AGT Voting Close?
This is one of the easiest details to miss.
NBC says voting closes at 7 a.m. Eastern Time the morning after the live performance show. Voting during a later re-airing of the episode does not count.
For the Sept. 1 Quarterfinals 3 round, the deadline is therefore:
- Eastern Time: 7 a.m. Wednesday
- Central Time: 6 a.m. Wednesday
- Mountain Time: 5 a.m. Wednesday
- Pacific Time: 4 a.m. Wednesday
If you live on the West Coast, the early-morning cutoff is especially important. Waiting until breakfast to vote could mean missing the deadline entirely.
A safer approach is to submit your votes Tuesday night.
Do You Need an Account to Vote?
For voting through the official AGT app or NBC.com, you will need an NBCUniversal Profile.
NBC recommends checking your login before the live show begins, particularly if you have not used the account recently. Some login problems happen because people originally created their profiles using Google or Apple and later try to sign in using a different method.
If you plan to vote, signing in before the episode starts can save time once the voting window opens.
NBC’s current help information also lists TikTok as a voting option. TikTok voting works differently from the standard NBC ballot, so viewers using that method should follow the instructions shown on the official AGT voting post during an active voting window.
Who Is Eligible to Vote?
NBC says AGT voting is available to eligible viewers in the United States and Puerto Rico.
If the voting system displays a message saying that you are not eligible, NBC recommends checking the official voting rules for the current season.
Location restrictions are one reason viewers outside the U.S. may be able to watch or follow the competition without being able to participate in the official public vote.
What Happens After the Sept. 1 Vote?
The Sept. 1 episode is Quarterfinals 3 of Season 21.
Eleven acts are scheduled to perform during the live quarterfinal round. The Live Show Golden Buzzer can send one act directly to the finals, while the public vote helps decide which other contestants continue in the competition.
The Quarterfinals 3 results are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, with America’s Got Talent airing at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
There is also a change at the judges’ table for this round. Kenan Thompson is scheduled to serve as a guest judge while Simon Cowell temporarily steps away from the show.
Can You Vote After the Episode Ends?
Yes, but only for a limited time.
You do not have to finish voting before the television broadcast ends. The voting window remains open overnight until 7 a.m. ET the following morning.
That gives viewers several hours to decide which performances they want to support.
However, once that deadline arrives, NBC closes the voting window. Watching a recording or re-airing later does not reopen voting for that episode.
For anyone planning to support a favorite contestant, the simplest strategy is to make sure your NBCUniversal Profile works before the show, watch the performances, and submit your votes Tuesday night rather than waiting until Wednesday morning.
